| These burial mounds are not prehistoric, they date to about 200AD. They yielded many gold and bronze ornaments and treasures when the Duke of Buckingham excavated them in 1839 including a glass urn containing human remains. Nearby is the attractive mediaeval Old Thornborough bridge, from about 1400 and in use up to 1974 |
