fallen menhir at KeriavalMenhir at Keriaval

Although the sites were close in prehistoric times, they are now separated by the fast Avenue d'Auray (D768) which makes reaching one site from the other hazardous.

At  one or two isolated menhirs and large stones half-buried in the gorse.

Map showing Keriaval and Mane KerionedKeriaval didn't seem particularly easy to find, unlike Mane Kerioned which you can see from the D768 highway travelling south. There is a sign for a path off the minor road leading south from the crossroads. The path is shown green on the map (left). But after that you need to turn left, past the menhir (above) and take the right fork shortly after that. The undergrowth was (September 2002) dense enough to make locating these a struggle.
